Tom Thorne/Beth Williams Wildlife Habitat Management Area

Tom Thorne/Beth Williams Wildlife Habitat Management Area

The Johnson Creek area is north of Sybille Creek and Wyoming Highway 34.  The area provides many recreational days each year for deer hunters.  The rugged terrain is well suited for hardy hunters and hikers who enjoy observing wildlife in their native habitats.  Johnson Creek Reservoir allows anglers the opportunity to catch brook and rainbow trout.

The Tom Thorne/Beth Williams Wildlife Research Center is on Wyoming Highway 34 in the Sybille Canyon west of Interstate Highway 25 and adjacent to the Tom Thorne/Beth Williams WHMA.  The center conducts research on issues related to game and habitat management and wildlife diseases.  Elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep, a variety of birds and other wildlife can be seen all year from the roadside pullouts.
