O.R.E.O. Outdoor Recreation Education Opportunities
Outdoor recreation is part of Wyoming's great history and can be part of your classroom. Whether you teach science, history, math or physical education, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department helps make it easy to keep your students in touch with wildlife and wild places.
The O.R.E.O. program is designed to help educators teach about the out-of-doors through workshops, lesson plans and other educational opportunities.

WILD about O.R.E.O. Educator Workshop:
Are you interested in teaching O.R.E.O. programs to your students but don't know much about the outdoors, need to brush up your skills, or learn how to integrate concepts into your lessons? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has the workshop for you!
Spend 4 days and 3 nights with Wyoming Game and Fish Department personnel and volunteers learning a gamut of things including: the history of wildlife conservation, outdoor photography, how to use a map and compass and GPS, being safe in bear-country, how to tell if a stream is healthy, shooting sports, canoe safety, and much more.
The camp is designed for Wyoming Educators, Pre-Service Teachers or Youth Leaders. There are only 40 spots available so get your registration in soon!
The 2011 Workshop is scheduled for June 13 - 16.

Lesson Plans:
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is in the process of developing a number of exciting, standards-based lessons for all grade levels.
The lessons will come in a variety of formats. Most activities contain complete lesson plans along with all appropriate resources and worksheets. These can be downloaded as PDF documents or are available in an online-interactive version. Activities that were developed along with the posters are general descriptions to give you a starting point; lessons may need to be modified to better fit your individual program needs.
