| | GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Position is the lead worker of a small team that is responsible for the completion of wildlife habitat improvement projects and manages/maintains land owned and associated with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. This position leads a specialist and occasionally summer technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The position develops and improves terrestrial and aquatic wildlife habitat; assists with the management and maintenance of Wyoming Game and Fish Department-managed lands within the state; performs development, repairs and maintenance on Department lands for wildlife habitat improvements, wetland systems, irrigation systems, meadows, farm fields, roads, public facilities, fences, public facilities and signs; provides advice on wildlife habitat improvement projects; works with other personnel, landowners, or other agencies on projects; determines the best method of completing the projects; ensures that projects are completed cost efficiently and meets objectives. The position works with heavy equipment, dumptrucks, farm equipment and power or hand tools to complete projects. Majority of the tasks performed consist of working outdoors constructing or maintaining wildlife habitat developments and performing maintenance on Department-managed land and associated infra-structure. Extensive travel across the state is required. The position is responsible for following and completing work plans, schedules and projects; protects Commission property rights and actively monitoring property rights for encroachments; responsible for the safety of the team and public on Department lands and development projects; follows OSHA, DOT, ADA, NEPA and DEQ rules and regulations. The position will respond to emergencies or problems on managed lands when available. Position will write reports detailing management costs, monthly activities, vehicle and equipment use/costs; develops budgets and fiscal year work plans. Position is responsible for the safe, efficient and cost effective utilization of manpower, equipment, materials, and other essential resources. Position is responsible for equipment, tools and supplies inventories; accounts for expenditures during the fiscal year; purchases supplies; prepares, and compiles contracts, bids, and quotes for services required and performs quality control and inspections on the services contracted. Position is responsible for maintenance and care of heavy equipment, trucks and other equipment; inspects work performed by repair shops; will repair pickups, trucks, and heavy equipment when needed; inspects equipment for safety, proper operation, and maintenance; assures heavy trucks meet or exceed required Federal DOT and State of Wyoming regulations/policies and procedures; maintains service logs and schedules.

| | GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director and the Fish Health Program Coordinator, conducts and/or assists with a predetermined number of legally mandated Wyoming Game and Fish Chapter X regulated veterinary fish health inspections of cultured and free-ranging fish populations as required by the annual work schedule and issues health certifications in accordance with standard laboratory procedures and the guidelines in the American Fisheries Society Bluebook. These inspections include the ability to analyze for and identify biological material for the presence of bacteria, viruses and parasites. The person in this position will utilize molecular techniques to aid in the diagnosis of diseases. This includes the use of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), electrophoretic techniques and interpretation of results from complex analyses, including the use of proper Quality Control/Quality Assurance measures for each analyses. Under the supervision of the Fish Health Program Coordinator, will assist with necropsies of wild or hatchery fish as requested by biologist or fish culture personnel. This includes identifying the cause of the mortality/morbidity and recommending chemotherapeutic treatment options. Will be responsible for bringing on-line new and improved diagnostic protocols and procedures and validating said procedures. The person in this position will be the contact with field personnel on Aquatic Invasive/Nuisance Species (AIS). This person must be able to identify various organisms of interest to determine if they are classified as an AIS, which include microscopic and molecular diagnostics of such organisms. May assist with supervision and training of laboratory technician working in the fish health section.

| | KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Must know the proper usage of very specialized laboratory equipment and techniques to isolate and identify numerous bacteria, viruses, and parasites from biological samples. The Aquatic Animal Health Inspector will make chemotherapeutic recommendations once a diagnosis is determined and therefore, must have knowledge of the antibiotics that can be used in aquaculture and the proper treatment for each bacteria or parasite. Knowledge of how to maintain cell cultures and virology techniques. Knowledge of Aquatic Invasive Species, their status in the state and the proper diagnostic tool for each species is also necessary. Knowledge of fish culture and management, Wyoming Chapter X regulations, Laboratory Fish Health Procedure Manual and American Fisheries Society Bluebook, and the use of DNA technology for fish pathogen identification are needed. Skills in microscopic techniques, oral and written communications, the use of computers, the use of chemicals and hazardous materials are required. Must also be able to drive long distances continually and perform duties under extreme weather conditions. |

| | GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Entry level position responsible for producing fish for sport fishing program and native fish restoration. Position responsibilities include fish egg care and shipment, feeding and thinning fish, cleaning fish rearing facilities, fish distribution to either other fish culture station or stocking sites, and assist in captive and wild spawning operations outside of the facility. Assists in facility record keeping and application of chemical for fish disease prevention and treatment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Utilize and improve fish culture techniques to spawn, propagate, and distribute quality fish to meet statewide needs. Operate various distribution units including a 300 gallon pickup tank, 650 gallon tank truck, large single and tandem axle diesel tank trucks, and assist with statewide distribution as needed. Assist in facility and equipment maintenance and upkeep. Facility responsibilities are 24 hrs/day including water supply monitoring and management of water enhancement equipment. Required to live in Department provided housing on facility grounds for immediate response and fish stock management. Rotate working weekends and holidays with other station employees. Keeping accurate daily records, preparing monthly reports, and assist in station planning as delegated. Maintain good public relations not only concerning fish but on a variety of Department wide topics. Conduct hatchery tours for groups and interested public. Attend meetings, seminars, and various training to keep up with department and fish culture issues and technology. Keep abreast of Department and State policies and procedures. Assist with statewide spawning operations (captive and wild) and statewide distribution as needed. Evaluate current methods and experiment with new fish culture techniques. Assist in Department activities outside of work unit. Assist with budgetary responsibilities (acquire bids, complete requisitions, invoice payments, travel expense vouchers, etc.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for daily processing of all fiscal transactions according to standard accounting practice and policies into the automated license accounting system and for the financial accounting and reporting of all licenses (approximately 800,000+ licenses: 100 various types: over $15 million dollars annually) issued by the department. Coordinating the annual audit of 350+ license selling agent accounts. Verifying all agents return all inventory allocated to them during the specific year. Verifying the account is audited and discrepancies discovered and explained in a timely manner. Following through on outstanding items. Responsible for balancing all undistributed revenue with subsequent license accounting system transaction records so that cashier can allocate undistributed revenue to proper revenue codes. This involves examination and comparison of financial data and documents to assure completeness and accuracy of financial distributions of revenue. Responsible for allocating and inputting license inventory to agents by type and agent account to allow distribution and financial accounting on the license system. Responsible for billing license selling agents for discrepancies between reports and funds remitted after balancing transactions posted with funds deposited. Research and explain discrepancies to agents. Researching licenses returned from agents to determine if action is necessary. Having a working knowledge of all other positions within the License Sales and Accounting Section to fill in as required.
