WGFD Release Wind Energy Recommendations for Public Comment

  Cheyenne - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is soliciting public comments on a new draft document: "Wind Energy Issues: Impacts and Mitigation for Wildlife in Wyoming." The document provides recommendations for assessing impacts to wildlife from wind energy projects, for collecting data, and for mitigating effects on wildlife.

US Fish and Wildlife Service Says Core Sage Grouse Habitat Areas Must Remain Protected - Even From Wind Development
Cheyenne - Officials from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service this week said that wind energy development in Wyoming's core sage grouse habitat areas, even for research purposes, would "negate the usefulness of the core area concept" and would bring into question whether adequate regulatory mechanisms are in place in the state to protect the species.
