Aquatic Invasive Species
Based on direction from the legislature, the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has implemented emergency regulations to address the aquatic invasive species threat. The legislation gives the Commission authority to inspect boats and to prevent the launching of boats suspected of harboring invasive species. The legislation also directs the Commission to establish a new aquatic invasive species watercraft decal program to help fund prevention efforts.

Cheyenne - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced today its decision to classify the greater sage-grouse as a candidate species under the Endangered Species Act.

US Fish and Wildlife Service Says Core Sage Grouse Habitat Areas Must Remain Protected - Even From Wind Development
Cheyenne - Officials from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service this week said that wind energy development in Wyoming's core sage grouse habitat areas, even for research purposes, would "negate the usefulness of the core area concept" and would bring into question whether adequate regulatory mechanisms are in place in the state to protect the species.
